Unless you are friends with the "right" people and/or is willing to lick their “you know what” it's very likely you will not progress in your career. A lot of experts in creating childish games, bingos, pijama day instead of actual work. Impressive how many are paid to do nothing or to work below what they’re expected to and they get to keep their jobs; the managers are the first example of that.
