Vantaggi

Some fun projects. Learned about AI development as a software engineer.

Svantaggi

Developed bad engineering habits due to lack of seniority and experience in my teams. Good engineers move up the chain fast, leaving junior-mid engineers in senior positions. Had some teammates with 2 and 4 yoe in engineering not know basic developer skills. I saw highly under qualified individuals in positions they had no business being in. For every 1 person who is actually qualified to do the job at Booz, there is another person that is piggy backing off of the hard work of everyone else. Switched to a smaller gov contracting company and have loved it so far compared to Booz. People kept telling me that maybe I’ll be a comeback kid. The only way that happens is if every other company in the world goes bankrupt. Left Booz on my own accord despite still being billable because I was sick of the culture. Networking looked so forced whenever I would go to company events. You’re friends with people until it’s time to find a new project, then everyone is either your competition or just a resource for landing the next project. I didn’t even write code for my last 6 months, which was the actual nail in the coffin for me.

Vantaggi

Strong mission-focused culture with meaningful work supporting national security missions. Great exposure to diverse projects, talented teammates, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities to develop skills across security, intelligence, cyber, and consulting. Benefits and professional development resources are solid.

Svantaggi

The company culture and employee experience have changed significantly in recent years. Earlier years felt more mission-focused and employee-centered, while recent organizational shifts, government spending pressures, and increased emphasis on becoming a technology-focused company have created uncertainty for some employees. Frequent changes in priorities, restructuring, and business decisions can make job stability feel less predictable. Employees may sometimes feel disconnected from leadership, and concerns raised through HR or management channels do not always appear to result in meaningful action or transparency.
