Vantaggi
Years following COVID was good, great projects and engaging work. Good, knowledgeable, and dedicated colleagues. WLB is great with full remote and non-micro managing managers.
Svantaggi
Full remote has since been pulled which wouldn't be a huge deal if the company didn't refuse to address the biggest issue: the global scope of the teams. Most development is done in Germany, with auxiliary teams scattered throughout. So that means if you're in NA, you will need to either get up at odd times of day to communicate with the team, or just communicate with them for half a day and then you're on your own for the rest. This is absolutely horrendous for new developers and I've never seen this type of team composition before. It's a disaster. Now with full remote gone, that means you have to waste time getting to the office....just to hop on a teams call anyway and then spend the rest of the time alone at your desk. This kind of scattered nature of the teams also reflects on the product, which is to say, not very good. When I got a demo of our ACC/LKAS fusion a couple years back it was embarrassing and should've been the writing on the wall. Wandering all over the place, phantom braking, etc. The company also for reason is enamored with the idea of doing specific, carefully curated demo drives to customers, even dedicating specific branches to these drives, to which anyone with a brain would know would leads to pigeon holing, potential unseen corner cases in the software, and huge pains in integrating this branch into the main stack. We've since lost a lot of major customers and have been pretty much picking up some scraps here and there. This lead to the NA division of ADAS/OD being pretty much axed with huge reduction in headcount in Germany as well.
