Despite the toxic work culture and business practices (or perhaps because of them) there is good camaraderie among the staff. The Cambridge location is also a beautiful facility (especially compared to Norwood).

Despite the company's promises and constant rhetoric there are no opportunities for advancement (don't believe the "real-time bonus/promotion" scheme - it's just a clever way to avoid having periodic reviews and bonuses). Initiative and independent thinking are frowned upon and actively discouraged. Public shaming in departmental meetings is common practice. Senior management has no clue how to conduct research or run clinical trials, and so directives are constantly changing in order to keep pace with the compounding mistakes. And as the icing on the cake, the pay is awful.

Very good benefits, colleagues are friendly and easy going (there are always exceptions), snacks and coffee in abundance, plenty of parking if you drive, and in our current job market it is an OK place to start.

Inexistent structured path that you can follow in order to progress in your career. Your career stagnates as soon as you walk in the door. Salaries are below industrial average (less 30 or 40K than average). And salary increase does not happen every year, and for some, not even ever two years. No annual bonus, and no recognition of your good, hard work. Frustration and lack of motivation is what you will typically feel as the time goes by. On the top of that, there is really no communication between groups, which I think it would be useful in terms of work progression and direction. Middle management has no say on almost anything important and you mostly manage yourself. Department meetings resemble seminars where no discussion is allowed... maybe resulting from a fear of speaking up and be shout at... which render these meetings fairly useless. Do your homework before you accept an offer! Sometimes there are no other options, but if there are, use your decision balance adequately. And please beware of the raving reviews, most are fake and forcibly fabricated, and if they are not the reviewer must be working at a company with a similar name and, well, mistakes happen!
