Vantaggi

Great learning opportunities for those just starting their career. The people you work with are mostly kind and caring people (with some exceptions). Decent projects, Your experience will vary based on what location you are in.

Svantaggi

If starting your career you will be heavily utilized in the field. Classic corporation "we're a family" feel which, let's face it, is a red flag these days, Mentorship program isn't the best - sometimes feels forced and not always a good match. Easy to become pigeon-holed in a field role. Low pay when compared to industry averages. On average 3% merit raises if you do good work, this includes raises for promotions (maybe you'll see a 5% raise...maybe). At the end of the day you're just a number in their system, though upper management will gaslight you to make it seem no so apparent.

Vantaggi

Flexible hybrid schedule is very nice and starting salary is high for early career engineers.

Svantaggi

The main people running the company are not engineers and you can tell. They are all focused on utilization with rates often set at 97% or higher. This had led to my supervisor asking/telling me to not charge company required trainings. As an early engineer it really feels like they don't want to invest in me and only care about their bottom line. If you are an early career structural engineer you will also not get any meaningful work until you've been with the company for at least 5 years. The senior engineers do not trust you and will only give you grunt work.
