The team for whom I worked was great. One of the best.
Svantaggi
Other teams not so much. Herding cats and you end up taking over on an IMC call for something not even in your sphere. I feel they blacklist employees they RIF. I had a great Director try to get me in with other BUs and nothing. He tried again and again. Others who got RIF'd told me the same. Not good. Also, seems people look over their shoulders looking for the Grim Reaper. Not a good way to be. And the higher ups that are in charge of client retention seem to not be the ones on the firing line, only the consultants that did great work for the clients who decide to leave. HR who is supposed to help get another job within the company are worthless. They want you to do all the work. Also, CGI is so big teams only know what they know. Learning other teams' stuff seems to be frowned upon. How can you move around? This login makes you stuck.

Spacious and clean office in a safe area. Great office view of the city and river. Maintenance is very prompt to address issues anywhere mentioned. Breakroom is always clean. In office coworkers are polite and conversation topics range from projects to sports or games. Role itself, a ton a support at onboarding in person and virtual. The first 3 months had heavy and 24/7 support on learning about the system itself before being tasked with tickets to take on. Company has a heavy emphasis on learning to stay updated on the most current technical trends with a generous amount of trainings to attend with their own charge codes so I think that's awesome.
Svantaggi
This might be office related. Im in one in the deep south so conversation topics leer on the inappropriate side like relationship status, advice on having kids, church, body/self image, and the envitable politic topic. Male coworkers have a heavier opinion and tend to raise their voice when the topic gets heated. The other part is the lack of diversity both in gender and backgrounds. Some offices definitely have diversity but their newer offices are have little to no POC despite being in cities with a lot of POC, just in that city its heavily segregated. Work itself, fluctuates depending on deadlines and releases being pushed up. When that happens, it switches to "everything is a priority" and you're pressured to work on weekends but not paid for those hours. You use those hours to take time off the following week but you have to take turns taking time off. Sketchy in how they wont pay weekend hours or overtime but you can just those hours to take off the following week but those hours are just normal pay and you cant use it at anytime, it has to still be approved. Pay it not market rate, it's based not the city the office is located in and it's not based on what's considered that city's livable wage rate.
