Long hours - A lot of working weekends doing extracurricular events - Compared to what an active duty officer makes to do the same job and meet the same requirements you can count on cutting your salary in half. If you dedicate yourself to this company you are setting yourself up for failure. Make sure you work your masters degree while you are at the university instead of focusing all of your time on the company and program. Everyone else will if you don't. Take care of yourself because when push comes to shove and budget cuts are required, you may find yourself unemployed no matter how loyal you were to the company and Cadet Command.

I believe that working for company as a military science instructor (contractor), is on of the true opportunities that allow veterans and reserve components soldiers to obtain employment. The ability to share our military experience and knowledge on tomorrows future leaders and watch them mature as they progress through the program is amazing.

The exempt salary that is offered and the lack of knowledge/consideration by some the Active service members that are in charge dose not match. The bidding company/ies bid lower in order to win the contract. With this practice, employee saw their salary drop by $4000 - $5000 annually ($42000.00 reduce to $36000.00). However, the workload and hours spent increase due to the constant reduction in staff. The job has no room for advancement but depending on the template of the unit, a MSI will most time sever in the role of the SMSI but get payed the lower wage.
