      CTL does offer good benefits, like 401K match and profit sharing. Randall Realty the head company is great, they built a hospital in Oregon.

      Pay is horrible. Penny Pinchers when it comes to upgrading and renovating apartments. Upper management, APM's, have favorites, if you aren't one don't expect to get far with the company. CTL doesn't really promote well. They promote based upon favorites, not based on actual skills. Upper Management doesn't take the time to listen to anyone below the Community Manager. Most managers only look out for themselves. Training is a JOKE! CTL has one of the worst training programs I have ever dealt with. It's 4 classes every other month. The trainers are CM's who think they know what they are doing but in reality they don't even do it like they teach.

      The job I had was not hard, the pay was in-line with what the job demanded, and overall I had a neutral experience with the company. We received a decent apartment credit, benefits, and 401K with 20% match (up to a certain level that I can now no longer remember). All and all it was a pretty good job if you are looking to get started in property management. There are, however, better paying companies out there that will pay more for a person with multiple years of experience. So again, not bad as a first-time job in property management... but I would not stay beyond 5 years. As for work-life balance... CTL Management has been one of the best companies that I have ever worked for in terms of not bugging you on your days off (and I lived onsite)

      Don't get me wrong. A workplace will ALWAYS have some form of political stuff that you need to deal with. But I felt that the level of "high-school politics" had way too much say so in who was promoted, not fired, and etc.
