In 2015, over 50% of the Digital Marketing Office turned-over and management not only did NOTHING to back-fill most positions, but refused to address that there was even a problem. A company-wide employee survey showed year-over-year declines in satisfaction. While the president and other executives acknowledged this, nothing was put into action within the Digital Marketing Office. Salaries are way under market and there is strong favoritism. Training/Development was 1-2 times a year at best and “leadership” programs usually died-away after 1-2 sessions. In my career, I’ve generally run into two types of managers…those who are good at managing projects and those who are good at managing people. The Cabela’s Digital Marketing office has neither.
