Unreasonable expectations of perfection for almost no money & false promises. Benefits were so expensive it would have eaten my entire paycheck, so I felt compelled to waived them. Workplace culture of speaking ill of others (employees & customers alike). I was once berated for a half hour in my manager's office for the offense of being 2 minutes late (not hyperbole, it was on record in the system), although I was never once late before or since. My age & weight were often remarked on snidely to my face by another employee whose behavior was overlooked by management. Was trained extensively in Calico University courses with the promise of being put into the field within 90 days. After six months of working on the sales floor, training new hires, being somehow relegated to onsite tech support & dealing with absurd in-store dynamics, I was finally tipped off by a senior employee who let me know they were probably not going to let me in the field (for the actual job I was hired to do) for another year. I began looking for jobs that day, but later in the week there was a pandemic that solved the whole issue for me.
