Great place to work and learn!

Lots of hard wholesome work!

Calleva works hard to create a community where everyone knows each other and works well together. They often have fun staff outings like rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and occasionally caving. There is a big emphasis on giving and receiving feedback to encourage personal growth. They aren't afraid to let you do your thing (as long as it's safe) and let you experiment with activity ideas. You learn so many skills here from belaying and rafting to planning to leading and managing people.

There is a lot of hard work that goes into this job. Being in charge 10 - 13 children at once is mentally taxing even with the help of your other staff members. In addition there is so much physical labor and you need to make sure you have plenty of sunscreen on and are drinking lots of water. Don't expect to be done at a certain time. you could get stuck on a bus for 2 hours because of traffic or spend an extra hour after kids have left making sure gear is put away. (to be fair those last 2 are very rare)
