Comments such as 'the layoffs are beneficial for the company' are not only insensitive but also disregard the impact on employees, especially when layoffs coincide with significant holidays like Christmas in 2023. This disregard for the personal lives of employees, many of whom have families and children, is disheartening. Moreover, it's disheartening to note that such comments from top management are considered normal, as they interact with employees who are primarily concerned about trivial matters like the consistency of the free lunch offerings. It's profoundly sad to witness individuals in their 40s and above showing more interest in the lunch menu mere days after witnessing the departure of their colleagues. This stark lack of empathy and perspective only adds to the toxic atmosphere within the workplace, contributing to a pervasive sense of demotivation among employees.
