1) Three separate rounds of layoffs within a year’s time 2) Lack of clear strategy, especially in sales: there was a focus to build up the strategic/mid-market sales team & growth orgs [teams later laid off], then a focus to grow the marketplace launch team and expand ChowNow's footprint across the US [teams later discontinued], then a commitment to introduce a new line of business from the executive leadership team [later deferred] 3) Features in the iOS/Android apps are pretty bare-bones compared to other competitors 4) Executive leadership is heavily involved in product decisions [to a fault]. 5) Many tenured team members with company knowledge have since left or were recently laid off 6) Some recent additions to the executive leadership team have been controversial since they don't embody ChowNow's company values. Marketplace leadership had an ego early on and ruffled feathers across the company [Sales, Product, Engineering, Design]. The VP of Sales role has been a thorn in the company’s side for a long time now that they can't seem to get right [3 separate sales leaders in recent company history].
