There always seems to be sight glitches and issues which reflects poorly on the tutor. No clear way of communication. Watch what you say or it’ll come back on you in the end and they’ll terminate the contract. I had several parental complaints of previous tutors not smiling the entire lesson and not even trying with students. I had to work extra time to make up for platform issues in order not to lose long term students. I read reviews where they find reasons to let you go shortly after pay increases of which I also experienced. I was told I was let go due to feedback and not sessions not being what they were looking for. Yet, they acknowledged everyone teaching styles differ and only 1 person ever complained about that. I had over 120- 5 star reviews not even a year in, several long term clients, some classmates when word got out from other students parents and they let me go over feedback? The only repetitive negative feedback were site glitch issues, tech issues which was constant including the day I was let go. You’d have two of one student pop in the platform disrupting learning time when there was just one student. It would then echo and glitch out. Lots of freezing and being booted. Parents complained about lessonspaces often. They also conspired about support and how difficult they were to deal with and that lack of helpfulness. AI responses and AI lesson plans for the most part that are too easy for most students. Reviews about platform tech can negatively affect your tutor rating. They are moving to a system where tutors can charge more or less than other tutors and you make $5 per 25 minute trial lesson, so if you don’t retain students long term you’re losing a lot of money no matter what you charge.hourly rates will also be set by tutors mending those with less experience and background can charge the same as you losing any consistency with the platform.
