Vantaggi
You are paid for the hours you work
Svantaggi
The hours you work vary a lot. There is no planning anything. You must keep up with your own permits. You never know what you don't know. Here are some things that weighed on my decision to leave without another job lined up. It is hauling Hazardous Waste and they go onto the DOT list for mandatory pull overs nationwide all the time, The DOT does not put them on this list without reason. Clean Harbors stacks Hazardous Waste on top of other types of hazardous waste in their trailers and it doesn't get bound down properly. Never-mind the fact that they have no earthly idea what the crush weights of what they are stacking on are, or if the packages on the whole load may be under pressure, then if it leaks or you get pulled over for an inspection, it is on you and so is the ticket. The pay is closer to 40000 a year when they tell you it's 80000. It all depends on where you go though. They cater to customers and in some places they have plenty of work, until that customer cuts them off for being cheapskates...then you get on the roller-coaster of not knowing what you're doing and stringing you along, then piling TONS of safety videos that do not pertain to what you do and dealing with that while managing the time.... Not to mention all the horrible things like Diesel and Arsenic they put into land fills under the label of non-hazardous materials! Guess who gets in trouble for hauling it if you get caught with an improperly marked load that you signed for. This company is a mess. I am thankful to be through with them and that is with the consequence of having no job. It made me sick. By the way, corporate was who I was dealing with my last 2 months. It was a worse nightmare than the regional offices that I dealt with before them. Good luck if you go to work there. I wasted a year in constant stress.
