Vantaggi

Pay is competitive and based on your experience and expertise. ClickUp wants to pay you what you deserve and what you need. They offered me more than I asked for and are not looking to lowball anyone on pay. Awesome place to work! PTO is amazing. Their PTO is unlimited meaning you can take time when you need it with no limit. They do not give you a hard time at all when it comes to taking time off for family or other life activities outside of work. If you are a work hard/play hard type of person this is the place for you! Benefits are stellar with them paying for 100% of the benefits for the employee. Also, if you need to cover your family the rates are amazing and coverages are very in-line with top tier companies. Culture is exactly how they say it will be before they hire you. I found them to live by what they say in their interviewing process. Everyone I have worked with has been extremely helpful and they take pride in being an inclusive work place for everyone. Leadership at ClickUp is driven and lives out their principles. They do not just preach it, they live it! The 1% better everyday is something all the leadership at ClickUp lives by. Bottom Line: Work here! You will be challenged and will grow 1% everyday!

Svantaggi

ClickUp is a StartUp which means it is a smaller company (less than 1k employees at time of review) so things are still being figured out. As such, the schedule can be interesting and time zones are very spread out making it hard (sometimes) to collaborate since teams are comprised of people from the other side of the world or country (i.e. folks on West Coast US support people on East Coast US). Ambiguity around how to get things done as much of this is still being figured out. If you are the person who needs everything figured out ahead of time this could be challenging for you. The tools needed to get things are done are often being developed in real time as the need arises. I see this as less of a con and more of a notice that ClickUp is still growing into what its Vision for itself is. That being said, I have not encountered anything yet that we could not solve for. Bottom Line: If you are not a self-starter and driven to excellence you will struggle in this environment. 1% better everyday means we are always pushing ourselves to get better.

Vantaggi

Some smart, ambitious people who you can learn a lot from.

Svantaggi

This place is an unstable, toxic mess, and leadership is largely to blame. The C-suite is full of egos and seems to make goals and quotas up out of thin air, then cleans up the fallout from poor planning and overhiring with layoffs. There have been three company-wide mass layoffs in less than four years, and that doesn’t even include the many layoffs that have happened quietly behind closed doors. The toxicity at the top trickles down through the entire organization. VPs put pressure on middle management, who then pass that pressure on to ICs. The company can’t seem to keep leaders in place for more than six months, which creates constant chaos and confusion. Strategies are always changing, priorities shift every few months, and nothing ever sticks long enough to make a real impact. Promotions seem to be based more on politics, favoritism, and who can make the most noise than on actual performance. The same people get promoted year after year, and many of them seem underqualified for the titles they hold. If you’re good at self-promotion and have the right relationships, you’ll probably do fine. If you’re quietly doing great work, don’t expect the same recognition. HR keeps saying they’re working on improving the promotion process, but I haven’t seen much change. If you’re considering joining the GTM org (especially the operational side) I would think twice. The new leadership loves to talk about transformation, improvements, and exciting changes, but there’s usually very little follow through behind the messaging.
