Vantaggi

I’ve been reading some of the recent reviews, and I just wanted to share my own take. While my role isn’t in IT, I don’t think the company is failing by any means. CoBank is honestly a great place to work, and the mission—helping rural America and funding businesses across the country—is something I’m really proud to be a part of. Being part of the Farm Credit system gives me a strong sense of purpose, and I get to work with so many amazing people, both inside the bank and out. One of the things I love about CoBank is how much trust they place in their associates. We get to work on big projects while enjoying a hybrid work model, which really makes a difference. Sure, things might look a bit different than they did five years ago, but the heart of the company is still strong. There's a big push for technological change, which honestly was needed. Our systems were a bit behind, but I’m excited about the future and where all these changes will take us. I’m genuinely proud to work here. There are a lot of great initiatives, like giving each associate $500 to donate to a charity of their choice. We also have Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) that are always coming up with ways to connect, learn, and grow together. Plus, the bank offers free classes—both in-person and online—to help us keep developing professionally. I know things in IT aren’t easy right now, and I really feel for that department as they go through a major transformation. But even with all the changes, I don’t think the company is failing. If anything, we’re moving forward, developing new strategies to keep up with the times and stay ahead of the curve. We’re also seeing a lot of younger associates join, which is exciting. It’s bringing fresh perspectives and energy, especially as many of the older generation start retiring. Looking ahead, I’m excited about where CoBank is headed. With all the new technology and ideas coming into play, I think we’re in for some exciting years. Our CEO is also incredibly kind and always shows up to support the team at ARG events, which really boosts morale. If you’re thinking about joining CoBank, don’t let the IT-specific reviews discourage you. This is truly a hidden gem of a company, and I’m glad to be a part of it. Oh, and no one asked me to write this review and I haven't heard of others being approached like another review suggested.

Svantaggi

Like any company, CoBank has its challenges. The IT department is going through a major transformation, which has created some growing pains. While the benefits are solid, they could definitely be more affordable—especially in terms of health insurance premiums. While the company does show appreciation in other ways, a bonus around the holidays would be a nice touch to recognize the hard work throughout the year. Lastly, while the company is evolving, there’s always room for more transparency and communication during times of change, especially as we move into new tech and systems.

Vantaggi

Financially speaking CoBank is a stable company. The yearly bonus payout is competitive,

Svantaggi

It's referred to as "CoBank nice" which is another way of saying it's a passive-aggressive culture. If you dislike endless meetings, this environment can be frustrating. Strong resistance to change at the leadership levels - despite claims of being focused on transformation, real progress is very limited. Extremely slow pace. Recent months have brought significant organizational and leadership changes, but very little acknowledgement about the impact those changes have on associates. PTO is definitely not competitive.
