Vantaggi

The friends we made along the way

Svantaggi

I am actually not convinced that this place isn’t a social experiment designed to test the limits of human tolerance for workplace toxicity.

Vantaggi

enjoyable work, affordable health insurance, great coworkers

Svantaggi

Fiercely chaotic Human Capital Management practices across every conceivable metric. No formal Human Capital Management processes had been implemented at CoFi during my tenure and in my experience, it had a widespread negative impact on the overall culture of the company. Specifically, the results of this oversight include the following (IMO): 1. Lack of Professionalism: nonexistent conflict resolution, favoritism disguised as “closeness”, gender discrimination 2. Lack of Professional Boundaries: implicit expectation that employees should be willing to personally sacrifice for the business, lack of professional boundaries between coworkers 3. Poor Emotional Intelligence: meeting honest but “negative” feedback with retaliation, generally threatening vibes radiating from the top down 4. Culture of Burnout: equating exhaustion and total work/life imbalance with dedication 5. Overtime Pressure: pressure to work on vacation time and after hours, passive-aggressive treatment for taking vacation time at all 6. Difficulty Leaving: resignations treated as personal betrayals, no emphasis on mentorship or general career development To be fair, the amount of good that someone takes relative to the bad seems to differ depending upon which part of the business they end up in. If someone were to wind up in the “right” department, they could probably have an okay to great experience here. Personally, I can’t say that I’d recommend playing the odds.
