Everyone I ever worked with was the most down-to-earth person. Everything was done to make sure work felt fair, and I was never pressured into any situation I felt uncomfortable with. Journeymen were more than willing to teach anyone who would listen and was willing to improve. When work got slow, the company prioritized moving you to departments where there was still work and was transparent about this, so it never felt like I had to worry about being laid off unexpectedly.

Often, to get to job sites requires a long commute. That is more about the job than the company.

Favoritism and nepotism: Promotions and work assignments often depend on who you know rather than skill or effort. Chronic understaffing: Projects are consistently underbid, leaving too few people to finish the job properly. Lack of support: Apprentices are asked to complete unfamiliar tasks with no proper training or supervision. Unfulfilled reimbursements: Promised parking and expense reimbursements are not completed or finalized. Payroll and benefits issues: Some hours have been reported under incorrect information, risking lost healthcare eligibility. Racial bias: Witnessed unequal treatment of minority employees.
