There are some long term employees (10 to 20 years) that are valuable in some regards are also a liability in their arrogance and refusal to grow. Much of the leadership employees are less than competent "YES"-men/women Experienced developers are pushed to the bottom but also expected to take on the dirty jobs and keep the company profitable, while fresh-faced new hires are given the attention and opportunities. The CEO's bullying behavior is branded as "making the tough choices".
