Vantaggi

An Academy which strongly supports professional growth and initiatives that are targetted for employees, ample onsite opportunities, flexible work timings most of the time and excellent benefits - insurance, flex accounts, matching 401(k) and all (though insurance premium is increasing and options are decreasing every year.)

Svantaggi

Career growth stalls after a point of time. Performance reviews are heavily biased, which could be attributed to incompetent management. Most of the times, one to one appraisals are not even conducted. The buzz words during appraisal times are "Bell-Curve", "Normalization", "Vertical/Location/Designation quotas", etc etc and you are never rated according to performance. Compensation is below par compared to competitors. Lot of initiatives are taken for career improvement of employees, however they are not always effective. I think though the initiatives are promising, those are not implemented or delivered effectively.

Vantaggi

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Svantaggi

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
