      Got promotted quickly, made more money than I thought at my age. Average bonus was 15% even when year was bad. Had to fight for the promotion, but they were fair and gave it to me.

      Poor communication from management. Constantly try to outsource. Restructure company every few months. No clear direction and you never know if you will have a job.

      Coworkers are all intelligent and overall good people to spend 12hrs a day with.

      The department is perpetually understaffed. You’ll never actually work an 8hr shift, because no one is dumb enough to vote for that schedule. There’s not enough operators to fill the schedule without being forced all the time for 16hr shifts. Be prepared to be forced for OT on a regular basis even with a 12hr schedule. If your family is important, then this probably is not a good long-term plan. You’re going to miss sports, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. You live at work and home is a place you sleep. The company might advertise company holidays, but that just means you get paid a little more for being here on those days.
