A lot of effort was spent maintaining communications internally amongst all levels about what the parent company and leadership were working on. Roll out of internal mentorship program offered cross-department thought leadership and engagement.

Growing pains. A lot of challenges as embedded business groups were forced to adapt and share information interdepartmentally. Competing department agendas often made collaboration difficult. Multiple restructuring efforts made it confusing to know who did what. Overstretched compliance department created delays for operations, sales and marketing to be successful in a timely manner among emerging and embedded markets. Limited career movement and development opportunities offered.

Coworkers are all intelligent and overall good people to spend 12hrs a day with.

The department is perpetually understaffed. You’ll never actually work an 8hr shift, because no one is dumb enough to vote for that schedule. There’s not enough operators to fill the schedule without being forced all the time for 16hr shifts. Be prepared to be forced for OT on a regular basis even with a 12hr schedule. If your family is important, then this probably is not a good long-term plan. You’re going to miss sports, holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc. You live at work and home is a place you sleep. The company might advertise company holidays, but that just means you get paid a little more for being here on those days.
