This is a company that knows how to weather economic storms and market changes. Tremendous opportunities for white males - Corning grooms its white males for leadership roles with mentoring, global assignments, and social interactions.

When I was there Corning did a poor job of mentoring and developing people outside of the Corning Valley (Corning NY). In the G&A areas If you were not in the valley you felt like a second class citizen. I think Corning is short sighted and does not take advantage of many talented employees (80% outside of the valley vs 20%in the valley). As to diversity (culture, ideas, gender, citizenship (non-US), and ethnic background) one only has to look at the make-up of corporate leadership in NY (executive, senior managers and dept heads) - the optics are a true reflection in my experience and opinion.
