Upper management (CEO, COO) down to middle management (supervisors) would rather stick their heads in the sand and continue about business as usual than listen to their employees that deal with drivers and accounts on a daily basis on how to improve processes and relationships to be more effective and meaningful. They set impossible goals to obtain a 'bonus' which if ever achieved in a quarter, they split in half and save the second half to give as an end of year bonus. But if you don't make all four quarters, you don't get the end of y ear bonus. This pretty much guarantees that upper management gets more money in their pockets than their employees, who actually run the company for them. Most of upper management does not know the functions of most positions of their company, nor how those positions operate. If they were to sit in a fleet managers seat or an account managers seat, they would be totally lost.
