****They take advantage of young artists who want to perform, by underpaying them and taking advantage of their inexperience with gig work.**** this creates and adds to the toxicity of the industry taking advantage of a exploiting performers.
1. They SEVERLY underpay you for the time you provide.
2. You will sign a contract for a lump sum of payment usually $300 for a one off show (rehearsals included in that sum)
3. Every single contract I worked for them (which was many at the time) they would required almost 10+ additional hours of rehearsals or attendance for the production. If you don't agree, you'll be cut from most of the performance or replaced.
4. Every gig i worked the choreographers were given very tight timelines which created a lot of stress and not a lot of practise time ,we often finished the performance day of.
5. If your contract is canceled for whatever reason, you wont get paid a cent.
