Vantaggi
- The people: Most of your colleagues will be very talented people with a lot of experience in their respective fields and the current processes/playbooks. Most are also very generous and will try to help you during the (steep) learning curves. - It's a solid company. Your payment is always on time. - They are heavily data/metrics oriented, so performance evaluations are frequent but they tend to be fair or, at the very least, very well documented and you can appeal them accordingly. - If you work from a country/city where life isn't expensive, the salaries are (well) above the average for similar positions. - 40-hour week and (any needed and approved) overtime is usually paid.
Svantaggi
- No benefits whatsoever. Not even paid vacation time. You can request for vacation/leaves as needed but they are unpaid. Salary may or may not compensate for this. - (Paid) Overtime may be required every now and then. - Shifts are 9 hours/day with 1 hour of break time and are set in stone: L1 and L2 support/engineer positions must adhere to this depending on job requirements, coverage, and lastly, your shift preferences for each month. - Job security is always a concern and may not always depend on your individual performance (forget about severance/seniority pay too) - Processes are strict and heavily enforced but process/product documentation can be lacking and/or very scattered, depending on each product. This directly impacts individual productivity and compliance.
