Vantaggi
-People centric - nice colleagues - payment aligned to market (but not in the higher side) -good learning place (with steep learning curve, which is good thing sometimes, get’s you out of comfort zone and learning A LOT)
Svantaggi
- huge workload. Most controllers are working the equivalent of 2-3 FTEs - absolutely no work life balance on some positions. If you want to deliver what is expected of you, you have to constantly work 12 hrs/day. No time to eat, wash, walk the dog, feed the kids if you have. During peaks (month closing, forecasting deadline) you work around the clock (>16hrs/day). No time for all of the above + no time to sleep even. You have no life basically. - poor change management, with huge impact on people. Organization reinvents itself every 3-4 yrs (vertical vs horizontal org charts or region centered vs local centered, divisions merging &unmerging) it never has time to settle and enjoy stability coming from previous change. You never know who is on what position. - Systems are not serving business needs properly. System implementation is done very poorly. Again, with huge turn on people (because system lack of functionality has to be compensated by higher workload) - eastern european environment (not international) - managers are not trained for management positions. Lacking soft skills, team management skills, workload managing skills massively)
