Vantaggi

The hospital in general is a great place to work for and the culture is steadily improving.

Svantaggi

While the overall culture is positive, the Care Management department needs an entire makeover that hopefully Emory will bring when they acquire Dekalb. Social workers at Dekalb have limited support, limited guidance, no room for growth, and face ethical dilemmas due to bullying tactics by the care management supervisors.

Vantaggi

A lot of minority health professionals and allied health support employees in the Emergency Department.

Svantaggi

Work environment can be toxic due to unprofessionalism amongst some of the colleagues and management in the Emergency Department. Management does not hold badly behaved staff who are not performing optimally on the job, gossiping/rude/bully’s/vindictive.

Vantaggi

-Older and Experienced RN Staff (not a ton of new Grads) -In a growing/developing area and community

Svantaggi

-Not enough money is being brought to this organization!! This leaves middle management with their hands tied to make progressive changes, and staff stuck to deal with frustrated patients and families. -Experienced staff afraid of change People who have been here are tired and frustrated that their benefits have been mishandled. Their retirement plan is non-existent. Benefits suck beyond comprehension! You might as well have no health insurance. -Management doesn't listen to the needs of the staff You can voice you concerns til the sun goes down, no one cares, or knows how to make the changes because the entire system is messed up. Staff can't properly perform their jobs because they don't have the tools or the support they need. -Poor patient care Yes, they get the job done, but at what expense? Just know, your license is on the line every time you clock in. There is little to no staff, no incentive pay, and no support if you're in a crunch. Period. No matter what they tell you in the interview.
