SA had some of the best in the world, 30 years ago. I reported briefly to one of the people who was involved in making the 6 nuclear bombs SA had.
The US CIA was never quite sure, and didn't know where the bombs were manufactured and hidden. All this was done on a thin budget, with bits of knowledge acquired from across the world and further developed here in South Africa.
