Vantaggi

Some of the work is interesting and some of the people are great. You mostly bond over the annoying stuff you have to deal with, using gifs.

Svantaggi

Dealing with the management team at this company often felt like dealing with my boomer father-in-law; - a complete lack of empathy for others - An unwillingness to consider change (unless it leads to profit in their pockets) - A stance that they always know better, and your opinion is not valid as you don’t have the experience they have - Immediately going on the defensive after any constructive feedback, leaving you feeling completely unheard They have a completely outdated idea of what company culture is. It’s not about free coffee and Friday drinks, it’s about trust, recognition and caring about employees well-being. Covid only cemented the feeling of lack of trust and the unhealthy pressure they put on you to get 100% billable hours. My mental health has improved immensely since leaving the company, and I only regret not leaving sooner. The 80% salary increase I got when I moved helped too… make sure you negotiate what you’re worth because they absolutely won’t reward you financially for good work unless you fight for it. I will say, a lot of the issues with D+I are common across other Australian consultancies, so they are not unique in that respect. It takes a specific type of person to thrive and get satisfaction in that environment, and my advice would be to get out if it doesn’t work for you, and find an in-house role. There used to be loads of negative reviews on here, not sure how they’ve disappeared…

Vantaggi

Team themselves are Very talented. Nice working space if you are given a suitable spot to sit

Svantaggi

No opportunity to grow. Very much a dictatorship style of leadership. Bully mentality. Very much like a convey-belt way of ;pumping out work. Management, only tell you when you have done something wrong and never commend you when you have done something right. A lot of discrimination and sexism particularly to females. They place people in areas in the office based on favoritism. If you are favored then you are one of the luck ones, otherwise you are placed in the dark spot in the office, where no one wants to sit. They draw you into the company based on their image and accolades but very different story when you are in and on the other side of the fence.

Vantaggi

I joined Design + Industry as a recent university graduate and have never felt more challenged and supported in a workplace. From day one, I felt encouraged to bring my creative ideas and problem-solving skills to the table. The company culture at D+I is collaborative and innovative, leading to a constant flow of new and exciting projects that are both industry-leading and exceptionally innovative. It's worth mentioning that there is minimal hand-holding at D+I. If you are given a role or responsibility, you are expected to complete it to the best of your ability. This high level of expectation is a result of attracting premium clients and projects with demanding standards. Employee development seems to be a key focus for D+I. In recent years, the company has invested heavily in internal training, reflecting their commitment to the growth and success of their employees.

Svantaggi

Working for a design consultancy is inherently challenging, and my experience has been no exception. The learning curve was steep, but the projects I worked on were highly complex and demanded a high standard of work. However, by asking the right questions and putting in the effort, You can learn more in two years at D+I then in over five years at other companies.
