Vantaggi
I’ve worked at a couple agencies, and can say that I truly miss working at Designzillas. The leadership is eager to help you learn and grow, and will never tell you that you aren’t ready to learn something new. The people get along, and conflict is rare. When it does happen, it’s squashed respectfully and timely. The culture is unique, and isn’t for people looking for politically-driven hierarchies. Everyone is treated as an equal, and the support system is strong (especially being a dog-friendly office!). Communication is open and transparent. Regardless of the situation, leadership (and practically everyone) truly wants you to know their door is always open to talk. They definitely invest in their people. Whether it’s supporting or sponsoring employees to go to workshops or conferences, or encouraging them to get certifications. They understand that happy people work better and cultivate a sense of pride and community within the team. I’ve never been able to be completely comfortable being myself at work until I worked at DZ.
Svantaggi
It has the same cons that most small to medium agencies experience. The clients that they pull are usually amazing and fun to work on, but you get the occasional project that is not as exciting. Sometimes clients will have asks for services DZ doesn’t offer like video and on-site custom photography, but it’s my understanding that they were establishing partnerships to alleviate those missing pieces.
