Vantaggi

The best parts of working here is probably the experience you get with customer service. Store managers tend to respect the crew members, and try their best to accommodate everyone. In turn, hours are pretty flexible -- even if the manager is short-handed. Additionally, it's not very difficult to get a promotion if you really want it. I am a part-time high school student who was promoted after working for only 5 months! Plus, (this may sound cliche, but) everyone really feels like family. All the crew members, shift leaders, assistant managers, etc. really understand each other and the environment tends to be friendly among coworkers as long as everyone does their job.

Svantaggi

The turnover rate is pretty high, which makes it difficult for management to keep a consistent schedule. So, while managers are accommodating, don't expect the schedule to stay consistent. It will change whether you like it or not. This also makes it difficult for people who have been there for a while, as you will probably be asked to train new workers, which takes time, patience, and energy, and certainly isn't in your job description. It also reduces productivity, as untrained staff cannot help with much, leaving more work for you to do. Speaking of training, it's fair at best. I feel like Dunkin needs to spend more time training all positions, rather than teaching a worker a few tasks and then leaving the rest up to the manager, other crew members, or just to be played by ear. If training was more comprehensive, I feel like productivity would go up and the turnover rate would be at least slightly lowered. But probably the worst part of this job is the wage. You start at the bare minimum, and if you're not willing to work consistently (at the same position) for at least a year, there's little chance of a raise. So, while companies like Starbucks and Target's starting pay is higher than minimum wage, Dunkin will stick you at the bottom. This is probably the main reason for the high turnover rate. I feel like if everyone started out AT LEAST 50 cents above the minimum, Dunkin will see an improvement overall in the morale of their workers. Furthermore, workers need to get more benefits, as right now it feels like full-time workers get little to no benefits (no paid vacation, sick days, etc.) and part-time workers get NO BENEFITS AT ALL, even if they are working in between 30-40 hours a week. There aren't even bonuses for working national holidays (outside of winter holidays).

Vantaggi

Tips can be great in the morning, and the free coffee makes for a great pick me up.

Svantaggi

Management can sometimes brush off issues when they're brought up directly, and there seems to be a severe disconnect between what the owners/franchisees want in the store and what management actually allows to happen, which can cause rifts on shift.
