There is an insane amount of pressure put on the field to perform and meet metrics, some even sales driven, even though this is an hourly position. You are expected to be aptly mechanically inclined, while still having all of the admin and sales abilities down. They expect you to be in charge of installation of new customers, maintenance of existing customers (very normal to be running over a million dollar territory), selling within and outside of your existing customer base and all of the admin that comes with that, collection of AR from customers delinquent on bills, follow the confusing supply chain when your customers orders go missing, etc. All of these tasks for a pay that leaves A LOT to be desired.

Everything. You are on your own to sink or swim. If you have a family or a life outside of work you and kiss them goodbye because you will never see them again. You will drive 5 hour one way and work 9 hours in the hot sun with only a 30 minute lunch break and then drive 5 hours back home only to have to do it again the next day which is only a few more hours.
