Vantaggi

-- Excellent training. You are paid to study for the required exams and the company pays for the exams. If you don't pass the securities exams, it is not the company's fault. -- Decent base salary. It's really not enough for a family to live on, but at least it's something. -- Good mentoring system. Having a good mentor can be the difference between success and failure and they stress mentoring throughout the organization. -- Good benefits and advancement potential. EJ is a limited partnership and if you do well you are offered a partnership which can significantly increase your profit sharing.

Svantaggi

-- I can only imagine how much this company pays in turnover costs. They say they pay around 70K to train new hires. If they channeled more into making them successful their new hire costs would plummet. --They have you out talking to people before you are fully licensed. You cannot talk about investments, even if you are asked. This is ridiculous, as you look like an idiot if you are asked a direct question about particular investments and you respond with ambiguous, watered-down answers. -- They have some really poor regional managers. These are big-wig partners who take on the RM position pretty much to make general partner (read: MORE MONEY). They can really care less about helping you start your own business. I saw many an FA who was struggling who needed more assistance than they got.

Vantaggi

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Svantaggi

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
