Elevance assumed within the last few years Amerigroup and Wellpoint. My experience with the original companies, Amerigroup and Wellpoint was amazing. Leadership believed in employee growth, accountability and transformation . The CEO would visit different centers and sit among the associates to understand what it was like. That environment nurtured community, values, excellence and most of all, true interest in improving patient outcomes.

The transition to Anthem/Elevance experience was quite the opposite. Until my final year their, my direct leadership was excellent but the corporate atmosphere was toxic, repressive and divisive. Words and placating were valued over action and evidence. This type of atmosphere perpetuated an environment destined to fall short of its mission. Instead of allowing data to drive decisions, opinions, myopic visions and speculation guided decisions.

Pay rate never really goes up. Prefer to promote inexperience outsiders than from within. Low pay At the whim of Manager Favoritism Political Pretentious Metrics based of friendship with Management Hard to move up of you don’t suck up to a Manager or be political or be part of their click and group. QIP is also at the whim of the manager. Faulty metrics where you are blamed for FCR failures even when you fixed the issue on your first call and but because the member called in multiple times to other associates who didn’t help. Or do their job, they blame you for first call resolution when you never talked to the member till you resolved it. This is really messed up and it affects your QIP.
