Vantaggi

They constantly promote from their existing team. While I have been working at Elite I have seen 7 drivers become promoted to management. A few have even moved out of state to run outside locations.

Svantaggi

If your a driver, not lucky enough to work in one of their warmer states, the winter days can be cold.

Vantaggi

Lots of variety in duties, never a dull moment and supervisors genuinely care about employees. They actually appreciate input on new ideas and reward accordingly.

Svantaggi

None really, contracts come and go so when it got lean I was let go.

Vantaggi

- Dispatch guys + sales guy are good people. The dispatch guys are former couriers, so they know what the job is like. - When you first start out, you're delivering medications to a lot of old people, who tip every now and then and are always grateful for your service. One of my favorite parts of the job was interacting with these people, even though I wasn't getting paid much to do it.

Svantaggi

- Pay. The first couple weeks, half of my money went to gas. It wasn't until my fourth week, the biggest week I ever had, that gas costs took up any less than 50% of my paycheck (it took up 40%, which isn't acceptable either). That was also my first paycheck over $400. So I averaged making roughly 200-250 dollars per week after gas costs, which I could have made at a part-time job elsewhere. - Delivery locations. I'm not sure why, but 90% of the deliveries felt like they were in some of Columbus' worst ghettos. Groveport, Miller Kelton, Linden, Joyce, Agler and Mock were all routine parts of my day. - Kroger runs are awful, and they're going to be 50% or more of the work you do when you first start out. They usually don't pay well and they can take up a lot of time. There are times where you'll spend 2-3 hours to make 18 bucks on 6 Kroger runs. There's also a return job to Kroger with signature slips and CODs that is completely unpaid. - Hours. I hate to rehash the Kroger problem, but there are times when you'll be out until 7 or 7:30 PM making late Kroger runs. When you hit the road between 7:30 and 8 AM every morning, it starts to wear you down. Working 40-50 hours a week for (at best, in my experience) 300 dollars is not sustainable for any life style.
