Vantaggi
I can only speak for the customer success org, but as a millennial working for a huge software company (kinda the dream) I can say that there are well defined steps that employees can take to move up the ladder and it's not just into a management position, its 4 or 5 levels above that too. Professional growth and asking questions isn't just recommend during onboarding and then forgotten, it is continuously brought up and opportunities are pushed so the employees become better and bring more value to the team and to the company. Our direct reports are blunt and honest about things and it feels like an actual team even though members of the team are scattered across the country. We have the ability to work from home in a lot of positions and if you live in the northern Virginia area there is a brand new state of the art HQ opening up that is a west coast tech startup dream. Work is consistent and challenging and I have never felt like I was left out on my own. The company has worked hard since their merger (which if you read other reviews did cause a lot of issues) and the Ellucian culture is now very strong and that makes me feel like I am a productive part of the business.
Svantaggi
This is my first remote position so it does take a while to get use to not working hand in hand with other people. Building close relationships with people takes a longer time because of this. I have learned that working from home actually makes me more productive though. There are times during the year where the entire team meets up which is great. Compensation could be higher, I live in a very expensive area though so that could be subjective.
