7yThanks for your review. This is not the experience that we want any of our employees to have. However, we are incredibly proud of the work that our tech teams globally are doing to continue building an environment that is supportive, nurturing and inclusive.
Our attrition last year was below 10%, which is in line with industry standards and below the tech turnover in London.
We use contractors due to project peaks, but we reduce the number of these contractors to give further opportunities to our permanent employees.
Salaries are equitable between new joiners and existing members of staff to ensure that we are paying at market rates.
Employees in tech attend conferences and instructor-led training sessions. Online courses are very much part and parcel of the training package and more than half of our tech employees are involved in online tech training pilot and the feedback so far has been positive.
We strongly defend our graduate program and we are conscious that graduates demand some coaching, mentoring and training early in their career, so we provide these to them. The annual intake of these diverse new talents has been rewarding in many ways for us as an organization.
At Elsevier, all our employees are responsible for their own development and careers, with support from their managers through career development conversations, action planning and ongoing coaching.
We encourage you to partake in helping us to build a tech environment that is supportive, nurturing and inclusive by speaking directly to your manager or if you prefer, contact us anonymously at elseviergdrev@elsevier.com
