Hired DEI consulting firm in midst of pandemic when hours cut, redployment of staff and morale low. more and more hires into DEI positions who send incessant emails about diversity, LGBTQIA+. White coats for black lives encouraging all staff to take a knee after George Floyd... so ironic. I also received liberal-leaning political emails after the Capitol riot, Atlanta spa shootings, we had an email supporting AAPI even tho there's no evidence it was racially motivated which was followed the next week by a "We Belong Here" asian posters and vigil in the cafeteria lobby. The very next week when the Jihadist shooter killed 10 white people at the grocery store ...not one peep. I 've worked at EJCH since 2009 and it's been a very wonderfully diverse workforce from lower level to highest level administrators and we don't have problems in this area but now they want to virtue signal from the Ivory Tower to alleviate themselves of their white guilt. They had a meeting on unconscious bias. Beware of working for any employer that would require you to take implicit association test. I fear it will be coming to Emory in relatively near future. Emergency med dept page has entire section devoted to DEI which recommends such racist readings as "White Fragility" and "how to be an antiracist". Can we please just stick to our jobs??? Oh and now they announced experimental COVID vax will be requirement after FDA approval . APPs in ER have to take call 24 hrs every two weeks which they tell us is lumped into our salary with extra compensation for callback...don't usually get called in unless someone calls out.
