Also the University provides a lot of alternative commuting options to faculty and staff and overall it is a progressive place to work for.

Raises, specifically for staff, are not based on performance evaluations but on you initial salary - even if you transfer to a new department they will offer you a increase based on a formula. In that same vain, most departments are pretty flat, so if you want to advance you will more than likely need to leave your department.
