STAY AWAY!! Not even close to a true Apprenticeship. Owner is AWOL that teaches you nothing, leaves you to fend for yourself with little to no help while forcing you to pay $60 per month for your US Cellular Android work cell phone that you cannot conduct business without and don't find out until your 'benefits' kick in. Training consists of starring at a computer watching worthless Microsoft Virtual Academy videos, most of which are from Africa while taking impossible tests that everyone in the office either cheats on or works together to pass. There is absolutley no structure or guidance to the training and it is not explained to you by the owner at all. Almost all the System Engineers carry iPhones while complaining about the hours and lack of pay and benefits and how they get robbed on milage traveling. No vision or dental insurance and I earned PTO that I wasn't given or paid for after the owner of the company kept changing our agreement and I am still waiting on my certifications that they have fail to provide me. No commission if you drum up business out of territory, even though there was no other account managers and the owner will not put anything in writing or give you any idea what the base salary is when you finish the apprenticeship after one very long year. There was an employee who worked for the company almost half a decade that passed a test so the company could keep their Cisco certification that they fired following the test because they had replaced them with someone cheaper that they didn't have to pay commission or as much per hour. Never saw where I was going to work or was introduced to a single person who worked for the "company" before, during or after the hiring process. My first day of work, the owner never showed and left me and two interns to try and figure it out all our own. The poor interns got nothing out of the experience as they were taught absolutely nothing, but were paid $14.50 an hour, when you start at $12.25. In fact, I had to introduce myself to the other co-owner the first time he was ever in the office and you got to see the main owner once a week if you were lucky. They sold the building they owned in June and expected everyone to work in a classroom at Coe College with faulty wi-fi or a public library. Chairs and other office equipment were over 15 years old and very uncomfortable to work in and be productive. Was pretty much forced to work from home for two months and was given a total of $20 for internet, but nothing else for any overhead while being forced to pay for my junk work cell phone that got 10 spam calls per day because the number was recycled from the previous phone holder. Supposedly been in business almost 20 years, yet nobody has worked for him longer than 5 years and thats only two out of the eight employees. In fact, half the employees have been there 18 months or less. Close my first account that was a three year contract worth nearly a hundred thousand in equipment and services and I wasn't even congratulated or thanked. The owner could care less about your personal life or work life balance and could't even name my wife or child when I asked if he knew what they were. STAY AWAY AND GO WORK FOR THE COMPETITION BECAUSE THIS "COMPANY" HAS NO NAME RECOGNITION AND IF THE MAIN SYSTEM ENGINEER EVER LEAVES, THEY WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS IN A VERY SHORT TIME AND YOU AREN'T GOING TO LEARN A SINGLE THING! Notice how this job posting is always up....there is a reason for that...STAY AWAY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
