-Decent pay for the area, especially for many who come to Epic as their first position -Work is meaningful -Coworkers are component and he's working -campus is nice and the food is good

-Upper management is completely disconnected from day to day life. This means that concerns aren't truly heard and are dismissed if it doesn't align with their "vision" -Absolutely 0 work-life balance, even if you say no multiple times. It is nearly entirely dependent on luck and on your randomly assigned TL. -They continually disregard your opinions/desires for both internal and professional growth, because it's "what's good for the customer and best for the patients". When in reality it's just an excuse to not focus on their employees at all -success and happiness also dependent on what projects you are assigned which historically both TS (technical services, and IS (Project managers) have very little to no control over -true professional growth is difficult because of the flat structure. The flat structure also is a daily impedement to changes at the micro and macro level -no vision for long term retention or plan to keep employees happy and successful. When pushed on it, small improvements which are standard at many comptetors are sold to the at large company as huge wins -compensation and healthcare is good/competitive but most other benefits are not including vacation, WFH policy, travel policies, professional development, education credits, and others -no focus on diversity or inclusion (not even a CDO). When pushed/asked several times, they decided instead to make a council that allocated that responsibility along with their full time jobs -managers aren't managers. They're people who were picked as a favorite or were good at the job they were hired for - NOT people who are good/built for being in upper management. This provides a disconnect and leaves certain folks in the dust/without help and others who don't deserve to be spotlighted with glowing reviews because there is no system or standardization to ensure a good employee experience. -they COVID-19 response has been a complete disaster. For a HEALTHCARE company that claims to have "the patient at the heart" they put ours and others lives/livliehoods at risk by forcing travel and work from work and are now doing the same thing with the return to work policy. They would rather see people leave, use all their vacation time, or go part time (and have a negative customer impact) than to simply do what's right and stay home all for the sake of "culture" with 0 efficiency gains to back it up besides anecdotal "hallway conversations"
