Vantaggi

Relatively good starting salary (this is only true for your first few months of training; I did the math and I was making $12/hour due to how much you're expected to work once you're on a customer). Many of the newer people and some tenured people are kindhearted, driven, and enjoyable to chat with.

Svantaggi

You will be expected to put your work over your well-being. On my 3rd day, my boss told me to buckle up because this isn't a 45 hour/week job. During my interviews, they made it seem like going international was a huge opportunity. In reality, few people are actually asked if they'd like to leave WI and you receive extremely little support once you're working internationally. The culture here is horrifying for new employees. Incredibly high turnover rates mean that you do not matter until you're 2+ years into the job (few make it this far). You will be treated like a dog until then. Even if you're an incredible worker, you will still be looked down upon until you're tenured. People with tenure seem to generally be egotistical, tear others down, and take credit for others work. Epic talks up their culinary team, and the food is great, but once you're in the thick of your role you likely won't be able to eat lunch 2-3 times per week. There is a cult-like atmosphere at Epic (people will joke about this, but once you're a few months in.. you'll start to get it). This company functions off of fresh graduates, works them to the bone, and lets them limp away as burnt out shells of their previously passionate selves. That's literally the only way that the company functions. The people testing quality have no idea what they're doing. Epic is extremely disorganized, demeaning, and has an off-balance work environment. The CEO responded to a question about work life balance by mumbling something about work life integration, saying you should check emails at home. Hilarious comment because we're not allowed any work from home flexibility, but are still expected to work from home AFTER working hours! You will get fired if they find out that you take a few meetings from home during business hours. You will sit in a shared office for 10 hours per day in online meetings, trying to talk over your office mate. You get VERY limited vacation days (0.8/month) and you do get a few days that you can plan as work from home days, if you send a work plan to your boss. You get 1/2 of a sick day per month. I was repeatedly exposed to covid and multiple members of my team caught covid while we were doing our jobs in hospitals. Epic makes you come to work and wear a mask, even if you test positive (you still can't work from home even if you test positive with covid). Please do yourself a favor and do not uproot yourself for this job. If you do, be sure to not resign a lease until you've finished training and are well into your actual role. Do not let yourself be coerced into thinking this is a good opportunity, look elsewhere. The only scenario that I'd recommend is if you already live in the area, try it out and set an end date the second that you find a different opportunity.
