Vantaggi

I moved from Russia and had absolutely no problem with transportation/accomodation. Adaptation was very easy with the help of the Company. We (my family) had already place to stay and rented car to drive by the time we stepped on territory of Canada. The Company does everything for it's employees for them to feel comfortable. The Company takes care of everything that may interfere with work.

Svantaggi

I see a barrier between Russian speaking and Canadians communities. Which is no good. With current situation (pandemic) it's getting even worse (we were to bump into each other in company premises, but now we all work from home).

Vantaggi

The management culture at Epiphan is great for those used to less micromanagement and more liberty, but everyone around still makes sure each other's work gets done. The workplace is very pleasant people are willing to listen to your ideas.

Svantaggi

To some, the split offices between Palo Alto and Ottawa might seem intimidating (in terms of correspondence and managing projects with people you can't interact with face-to-face, but obviously more so if you're only used to a startup setting.

Vantaggi

Standard Canadian benefits package, Hybrid

Svantaggi

Lack of SDLC & Agile Maturity: Inside of the QA Team: No structured planning, peer reviews, or collective demos. Professional growth is hindered by improvised workflows and a total absence of process improvement. Team work in isolated "waterfall" silos rather than collaboratively with the Dev Team. Into the QA Team (2 people) exist practices like Knowledge Siloing, Gatekeeping, Mobbing, and Discouraging initiative. Hostility Toward Professional Input: Providing expertise or suggesting data-driven improvements is perceived as a threat or competition rather than a contribution to the team’s success. Poor Leadership Culture: A "command-and-control" environment where individual opinions are dismissed, and ideas are co-opted without credit.
