Vantaggi

The culture is the best part about Esri. You aren't expected to work 50–60-hour weeks or work on weekends. The people here are mostly pleasant to work with and you can make some really good friends here. The work is meaningful and gives you a sense of purpose. It is usually pretty interesting and keeps you challenged. It is a good feeling to help better the world and you can do that here at Esri. They also have great job security; I don't think anyone ever fears layoffs.

Svantaggi

They like to start people at very low salaries. You get bumped up every year but when you start low, your increase won't be as good since it is percentage based. Vacation time and sick time could be better. If you ever get extremely ill, you'll probably end up using vacation time to cover it or you just won't get paid. You also start at very low vacation time, and it takes 5-10 years to get more.

Vantaggi

Esri pays your health insurance. A few extra holidays that other companies may not offer.

Svantaggi

-Below average pay for California. Already a struggle living out here due to cost of living. -Support services is a mess. We have to bend over backwards for customers always teetering on scope of support. Might as not even have those guidelines anymore if it's a constant battle for internal resources to back you. -Constant releases of software that breaks customer workflows. Too many bugs. Lack of QA. -Whats the point of middle management if all decisions have to come from higher ups that have no understanding of supports day by day. -Unwillingness to let senior employees work from home. And if you do work from home they hold it against you if you want to apply to an internal position. Almost like a thinly veiled threat. -Other teams feel the need to steam roll support sometimes, often leading to fragmented relationships. -Lastly there is way too much work and never enough people.
