Vantaggi

Those early in their career will get opportunities to learn a lot. You can get experience in many areas to boost your resume and any employer who is located in New England knows the Eversource name which helps with your resume. There are some incredibly dedicated, intelligent, and overall fantastic human beings that work at Eversource. Starting pay is at least market value, but you may be able to negotiate above easily especially with prior experience. Eversoruce's 401k is actually pretty healthy and has returned well even through the pandemic. 401k matching is 100% up to 3%. Health insurance through BCBS. Dental through Delta dental. Vision is through VSP.

Svantaggi

You may very well be given a plethora of responsibilities above your pay grade with nobody to back you and if you struggle to keep your head above water it's 100% your fault and not managements for mismanaging their employees. Other employees are also so overloaded with projects/responsibilities that they don't have the bandwidth to assist. Prior to taking a $350 certification exam, I asked if the company will reimburse me for the cost. I was told that it would "we can have this conversation after you take the exam." I took that as a "NO." Salaried employees are exempt from OT. This means there's no motivation to work past your scheduled hours, but you may have so much on your plate that you have to work past your normal scheduled hours leading to burnout and no work-life balance. I can't speak for all employees but this was the case with myself, fellow co-workers in my department, and co-workers in other departments that I've spoken to. You will have to work wonky hours during storms. This may mean you're working 12+ hours each day over a weekend and then roll right into a new work week come Monday with no rest time, no OT pay, and forced to drive in during blizzards/tropical storms to sit in a depressing cube twittling your thumbs waiting to actually do something to assist the storm effort. This can easily be done from home but senior 'leadership' insists you come into the office. With all of the negatives, I would still recommend working here if you're early in your career as you'll get a ton of experience and exposure, much of the non-senior leadership are fantastic people to work with, and everything you do contributes to the greater good of reliable electricity and gas for the customers.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you’ve experienced strong support from your team — that’s something we value highly. We understand that some roles, especially early on, can feel repetitive as employees build foundational knowledge. Many teams offer opportunities to take on additional projects or expand responsibilities over time, and we encourage employees to speak with their managers about ways to diversify their experience and grow. We appreciate your insights and your contributions to Eversource.

Vantaggi

Good pay and benefits. Normal vacation. Interesting job, meaning it’ll keep you mind sharp.

Svantaggi

There are no goals or expectations set that allows you to prove you’re ready for growth. The only way to advance your career is to be one of the cool guys OR work 16 hours a day and weekends. Bonuses and merit increase is the same across the board no matter how much extra you do. The work force is too small for customer/management and the expectations are set too high. There are not enough vehicles for the work force and often times trainees have no way of getting to the job site. We would run out of stock items (cable, wire, connections, transformer, safety gear) that are necessary to keep the power on. Our best coworkers have left for biggest competitor…me too.
