Vantaggi
Off by 6. Closed on Sundays. If you live on site you get a super affordable apartment and do not have to pay utilities. No driving to work for those that live on site. You can learn a lot here and grow as an individual. Can be very quiet at times. Do not have to cover tattoos. Company does ask for valuable feedback. Consistently trying to improve training methods. Company is huge on diversity and inclusion and offers resource groups. Uniforms are provided. Can be a lot of fun being able to rotate between the office and outside. Much better work/life balance than most standard retail positions.
Svantaggi
Can be difficult to get promoted once you get to a certain level. If you are not relocatable you might as well forget about it even though they will bring people in from outside the company for the same area you are in. Many people in sites have degrees that are useless because even though the company can create remote positions as it learned with COVID it will not do so for corporate levels. Meanwhile the corporate office employees recieve all kinds of perks like food trucks and team building activities and the sites do not see any extra benefits even though we are the ones dealing with the communities. Pay does not make sense for the level of work that we do. We wear many hats and keep these stores functioning and while we get a thanks it’s very unsupported by action. Huge turnover at least in my area so we are constantly having to train new people. Safety is a huge concern because many of us are working by ourselves and customers get upset over rate increases and auctioned units and often get irate. We get cussed at, yelled at, and sometimes even threatened. DM’s all work differently so some can give huge workload while others don’t expect nearly as much for no extra incentive pay. Job description is very vague meaning DM’s can put as much on your plate including things that would fall under their umbrella. Despite not being salaried members of management you are expected to be available/on call 24/7. Also live on site people are required to work despicable weather conditions simply because they live on site while the people that don’t live on site get to stay home for safety (I.e. freezes and snow, etc). There is not a clear understanding of what one who lives on site will be responsible for before they move on site. Those expectations are again, often set by DM’s.
