Vantaggi
You’ll ultimately get the experience you need to go on to a better company It’s good pay for a grad in their first ever job (but as ex-forces it can be a pay cut depending which route of the business you go down). Coffee is nice (and free!) I recommend the latte with 2 sugars, wakes you up on a boring day of upskilling.
Svantaggi
The training you receive won’t (in my opinion) prepare you well enough for the real deal when you’re on site with a client. It’ll be an “on the job” learning curve for you. Kind of like when you pass your driving test with the instructor, that’s easy….but the real test is when you hit the road by yourself, that’s when you learn! Not much choice over placements/locations - big downside! Roles are a pick’n’mix, I was (and still am now) a Business Analyst, but only my first role was as a BA, the other two were separate roles completely. Had a friend who was a fellow BA but was assigned to a company as a Software Tester. So don’t expect to always get a role that aligns with your actual job title and the training you received (and don’t expect new/specialist training if you’re unlucky enough, like me, to get one of those different roles). Throughout your training you’ll constantly be asked “how could we improve” but don’t expect any of your answers to be followed up on, listened to or actioned. The sheet you wrote it on will likely end up in the toilets for management to wipe with later! Account Managers believe they’re gods and look down on the “lowly” consultants. (Not joking)
