Dispatch/Procurement is average at best. They operate 90% off of internet truck boards, and on-time pickup and delivery %s are well below acceptable standard because of this. Ultimately, it is next to impossible for a customer rep to simply open a new account, let alone keep it around for more than 5 shipments before a service issue costs them the customer. However, all of this could be corrected with a change of leadership, and it starts from the top. Personnel decisions are made based on friendships/outside relationships and not on merit. Nepotism has never been so obvious at a company before. There is a very apparent inability to lead or manage. All decisions are reactive to problems/issues - NOTHING proactive. Corporate rarely knows exactly what is going on in the office. Employees that have fallen asleep at their desks, or failed to come in, are defended by leadership. Management in the sales department has closed maybe 3 new accounts in the last 4 years. 3 may be on the generous side. There is an overblown sense of authority and accomplishment from management in sales. Enough to warrant little no respect from the dispatch and operations group, while making mistakes common to those that are brand new to the industry.
